Highlights and Recap

Greetings, friends! We had an amazing time at our Friday seminar, with Ms Melanie Kwok, Assistant General Manager (Sustainability) and the Head of Sustainability of Sino Group. She oversees a range of sustainability projects related to ESG. Being a specialist in the realm of Sustainable Development for nearly 20 years, Melanie has gained extensive experiences in Sustainable Tourism and Stakeholder Engagement. We are very excited to share some of Sino Group’s achievements in sustainability from the seminar!

Do you know…

1) “Creating Better Lifescapes” is the corporate goal of Sino Group. Putting emphasis on “Creating” instead of just “Building”, is the major goal of Sino Group to explore the way of sustainability.

2) Sino Group aligns with 8 leading local and international standards, including IFRS, TNFD, HKEx ESG, GRI, etc. And it is also their 13th consecutive year to put effort in publishing sustainability reports.

3️) Sino Group is the first developer in Hong Kong to launch a Group-wide platform to engage all colleagues in ESG training since 2020, and the group is pursuing to achieve 100% employees trained on ESG by 2025.

In the Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong project…

1️) By implementing various water conservation measures such as rainwater harvesting and recycling systems, smart water management, and water-efficient fittings, the hotel has successfully reduced its annual water consumption by a whopping 65%. This is a significant achievement compared to other similar hotels.

2️) The Fullterton hotel has partnered with Sino Inno Lab to create a circular economy. As part of this initiative, they have constructed an EcoBricks Path using 2,800 EcoBricks made from 862 kilograms of plastic from 30 old washing machines and 38 road barriers. This innovative approach has upcycled waste materials to create eco-friendly concrete bricks for the path.
